The sounds of instruments being played, voices singing, and various styles of music echo through the school grounds, as students from Pre-primary to Year 6 enjoy their weekly music lesson under the guidance of a Specialist Music Teacher. Students are introduced to the art of responding to music of varying genres, and build on foundation skills to create musical masterpieces of their own.
The classroom program is further supported by our Instrumental Program, offering select Year 5 and 6 students, the unique opportunity for group music lessons on flute, clarinet, trumpet and trombone. Students have a weekly lesson, with their talents being showcased in numerous class performances throughout the year, culminating in performances at our end of year Awards and Graduation ceremonies.
Visiting artists from around the country are invited to perform for our students, with the students delighting in past performances from Kaboom Percussion and Peter Coombe to name a few.
Creaney Primary School is represented in the wider community through student involvement in Seniors Week, One Big Voice Festival and Music: Count Us In program, where they share the experience of singing and music making with thousands of students from not only around the state, but also around the country.
